- Description:
- Three men wearing work clothes in the process of shearing three sheep at Oakview. The D.M. Ferry Company, later known as the Ferry-Morse Seed Company, expanded operations from Detroit to Avon Township in 1902. Oakview Farm comprised the area between South Rochester Road, East Hamlin Road, John R Road, and East Auburn Road. In 1912, the company increased the size of the farm northward, so that it reached to East Avon Road. Oakview was the site of the company’s trial grounds and stock seed breeding operations until 1944. Sheep were fed the crops that were unsuitable for reproduction and their manure was used as fertilizer. (P-10) [date is approximate] Photograph Collection

- Newspaper article and photograph of farm equipment made from a reclaimed 1910 Cadillac axle at the Ferry-Morse Seed Company farm, Oakview. The D.M. - Description:
- A barn raising at Ed Barne's farm located on the south side of Silverbell Road just east of Brewster Road. Portions of the frame were assembled on the ground. The crew raised them using rope, muscle and horses. Women prepared meals. The roof and siding were added a later day. The property was purchased by Barne's father sometime before 1872.

- Photographs of Keyna Adelaide Godfrey (1899-1966) and James B. Godfrey, Jr. (1900-1974) taken at their grandmother's house in Stoney Creek. Their parents were married in St. Keyna, England, which may account for Keyna's given name. James B. Godfrey, Sr. (1857-1932) owned a mercantile in Stoney Creek at the corner of Tienken and Romeo Roads. (P-88)
