- Residence of John Taylor Norton (1855-1924), located at the corner of Oak Street and University Drive (Fifth Street). Norton was a druggist who operated the Norton Pharmacy on the ground floor of the Rochester Opera House building at 340 South Main Street. The house on the left is the Homer Axford House, built in 1912. The next house is the Thomas Roscoe Hodson House, built in 1913. At the far right of the image is the south side and chimney of the Lloyd Garrison Satterlee House, built in 1905. Also visible are the tracks from the Detroit United Railway (DUR) in the foreground. - Color-tinted postcard image with a fountain in the foreground at the southeast corner of Woodward and Maple in "library park." Grass and shade trees and sidewalk near the fountain, and a brick building in the background across the intersection (Levinson's Department Store). Fountain statue depicts boy holding umbrella and girl peeking over his shoulder. Fountain built in 1891 (Chicago) and installed to commemorate the city's first water pipe.
