- The architectual designs for the barracks at Ostifyasszonyfa are presented on the top of the page for the "Barraca Grande," a rectangular set of buildings, and "La Barraca Picole," a smaller U-shaped set of buildings. The artist's view of these buildings are presented in the lower set of drawings. The barracks were designed as one-story accommodations, similar to buildings in other Hungarian prison camps.

- Serbian prisoners of war cross a railroad bridge over the Danube, leaving Serbia and entering Austria-Hungary, under Austrian guard. German soldiers at the lower right and on the bank of the river to the left watch the Serbians pass into Austrian captivity.

- Russian prisoners address a drainage problem in the camp compound at Purgstall under the direction of an Austrian non-commissioned officer. A group of Russian prisoners stand in the background next to the hospital school building (Number 255).

- Several Christmas trees stand on a platforms in the prison compound at Theresienstadt, probably outside of the YMCA building. The prisoners have decorated the trees with paper chains and ornaments. On the right hand side of the platform sits an accordion, which will bring music into the camp.

- American YMCA Secretary Bryant Ryall distributes bags of presents, bread, and a Christmas tree to Serbian boy prisoners at Braunau-am-Inn. Russian and Serbian prisoners observe this activity. The YMCA focused a great deal of attention on these boys and sought to make the Christmas season a joyous occasion.

- Prisoners wash and disinfect clothing under the supervision of an Austrian non-commissioned officer in the laundry at Wieselburg. This was a new facility and featured hot water treatment of POW clothing. The elimination of vermin reduced the outbreak of epidemics and improved the general health of prison camps.

- Bareheaded Russian prisoners participate in the monument dedication ceremony in the prison camp cemetery at Wieselburg. An Orthodox priest leads the service in front of the new monument. Note the photographer to the right in the photograph.

- Three Russian prisoners pray on their knees before the altar in the chapel at the prison camp in Millowitz. The altar is decorated with paintings of the Virgin Mary and the baby Jesus (to the left), Christ (to the right), and the Last Supper (on the top) and there are two Orthodox crosses on the pillars of the room. The chapel is also decorated for Christmas--two small Christmas trees flank the altar and there is garland hanging from the rafters.
