- A well-tended prison cemetery for Allied POW's stands on the outskirts of a German town. The graves are ivy-covered and several are decorated with wreathes and flowers. Each grave has the name of the deceased, his birth and death dates, and information about his military unit on plaques mounted on each of the crosses.

- This photograph shows the gravestones of English prisoners of war who died in captivity in Goettingen during the Great War. The graves are well-tended and covered with ivy. There are about forty graves in this section of the cemetery.

- A Russian POW is about to be lowered into a grave for his final resting place at the prisoner of war cemetery at Koenigsbrueck. The cemetery is lined with fir trees and a priest officiates the service at the foot of the casket. The dead prisoner might have been a Pole as reflected by the Latin cross used in the ceremony.

- Secretary J. J. Hertig, a Danish Red Triangle worker, stands next to the grave of Vladimir Kavsky, an imperial Russian field chaplain who died in the prison camp at Spratzern in 1915. Secretary Hertig was one of the neutral secretaries who volunteered to replace the departing American secretaries in War Prisoners' Aid work in Austria-Hungary. The monument to the Russian soldier is interesting in its design and includes a poem in German.

- A Roman Catholic priest delivers a funeral service for an Italian prisoner of war at a cemetery near an unidentified Austrian prison camp. The POW's comrades attend the service and the casket is decorated with flowers and ribbons.

- A winter view of the monument that French prisoners of war at Rennbahn designed and constructed in memorial to Allied POW's who died at Muenster II. The commandant arranged for free photographs of individual graves to be sent to family members through the camp's British Help Committee.

- Russian prisoners and a visiting delegation official dedicate a monument to fallen comrades in the prison camp cemetery at Wieselburg. Two religious banners stand on both sides of the wreath-covered monument in the center of the cemetery.

- A Russian Orthodox priest leads Russian prisoners in the dedication of a new cemetery memorial at the prison camp cemetery at Wieselburg. The monument was a large white stone obelisk with an Orthodox cross; it was decorated for the ceremony with a funeral wreath and ribbon.
