- Sepia-toned photo showing the firemen of Phoenix Steam Engine Company No. 3. The view shows nine firemen in uniform who are standing in front of a hose apparatus and a steam engine. Several bystanders can be seen at the back end of the steam engine near the right side of the image. The brick fire station building is visible in the background and the street name sign, "Clifford Street," can be seen on the corner of the building near the upper left corner of the photo.

- Cabinet card bearing a sepia-toned head-and-shoulder portrait photograph of a ranking Detroit Fire Department firefighter, in profile facing the left. He has a moustache and goatee, and wears a kepi hat with two crossed bugles on its badge, with a double-breasted coat. The photo was previously housed on the right side of a three-part cardstock frame with alongside a photo of James Battle, and another ranking firefighter. "October 1881," is handwritten on the verso.

- Photograph. A mounted, glossy photographic print of the crew of the private fire department of Parke, Davis, and Company. Fifty eight firefighters pose in six rows as well as on ladders at each end. Hooks, axes, fire extinguishers, and plenty of hose are visible among the crowd. A sign suspended above reads, "Parke, Davis & Co." Photo is mounted on a green cardstock matting. Handwriting on verso reads, "1895-1900, Standing L-R 1st row Dr. John M. Francis; Leon Fink, Fire Chief." "WM. H. Hart, Photographer, 361 Meldrum Avenue, Detroit, Mich." also printed on verso.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned photograph of the head and shoulders of a fireman. Badge on cap as well as badge on lapel of jacket reads, "203." Noted on verso indicates that this is possibly an image of Richard Filban. Filban served for the Detroit Fire Department at Hook and Ladder No. 3.

- Sepia-toned photograph, head and shoulders view of a Detroit Fireman, cap badge reads, "DFD 208," and the badge on his jacket reads, "Detroit Fire Department 208." The name of the photographer is mostly torn off at the bottom of the image, but was probably "F. Friend, 244 & 246 Woodward Ave., Detroit" which matches other similar photos in this collection. Written on verso, "William Doty."

- Sepia-toned gelatin silver photo of the firemen of Engine Company #6 in front of the fire station building. A horse-drawn steam fire engine is parked in the street and a separate horse-drawn hose wagon is parked behind it. Seven firemen are standing in front of the two vehicles. One fireman is seated in the driver's seat of the fire engine and another in the driver's seat of the hose wagon. The name of each fireman is written along the bottom of the photo as follows (left to right): Peter Ortwine, Max Worth, Charles Little, Peter Smith, Frank Kelliger, Dan Carroll, Billy Werner, Ted Denier, Jim O'Grady. Several bystanders can be seen in the background and a policeman is standing at the far right. The brick fire station building shows the number, "6," carved in the keystone over the central doorway. The structure also incudes a watchtower and five people are standing on the balcony. On the left side of the building (midway up at the corner), the street name sign, "Russell St.," is visible. The word, "Russell," can also be seen on the glass of the streetlight that is located behind the fire engine. Handwriting on the verso notes "Man on extreme right is Henry Miller, policeman. A noted character in the Police Dept." and also "This is one of two engines and crews who went to Chicago fire in 1871. No. 3 was the other."

Armstrong, and Master Mechanic Francis Beaufait, as well as a photo of Detroit Fire Department Headquarters on the northeast corner of Wayne Street and Larned Street. Images of several pieces of firefighting equipment for a design surrounding the portrait of Battle, and the left edge of the image. A.G. - Photographic Print (1 copy). Sepia-toned albumen cabinet card photo of a fireman who is standing beside a small table. He is also holding the handle of an axe that is resting on the floor. His shirt has been hand-colored in purple and the number, "5," has been handwritten his badge. Handwriting on the verso notes, "M. Pasco." The copy photo is somewhat faded although there is some coloring on his shirt. Handwriting on the verso of the copy shows "Mark Pasco."
