Icicles hang from the building's facade, and rubble has settled around its base. A pile of hoses, a group of people, and a horse-drawn sleigh are in the intersection below. An arc of water from a fire hose run from off the left edge of the frame, to the building's entrance. A fire engine, and a cloud of steam rising from it, is visible in the intersection of Griswold and Grand River Avenue in the background on the right. The photo is mounted on beige cardstock.
