- Sleeveless floor-length dress with matching long-sleeve jacket in coral silk crepe. V-shaped neckline in front and back; floating curved panels over bust; sewn tucks over midriff. Self-fabric button closure in back leaves small, diamond-shaped opening in middle of back. Short half-belt in back. Seams curved over hips with slight fullness below knees. Weighted bottom. China silk half-slip in matching color. Waist-length, double-breasted jacket with suplice closure and 2 self-fabric buttons. No collar. Elbow-length bell sleeves. Clothing label: JEAN PATOU/PARIS. Patou designed clothing for thin, young women.This garment was owned by Mrs. Harvey Firestone of Detroit, Michigan.This form-fitting dress would have required Mrs. Firestone to maintain her slim figure, and she surely looked smashing in it. It has particularly exquisite back detail, and is in coral, which was a very popular color in the 1930's.

- Woman's blue wool knit dress; shift style with hidden elastic waist, boat neckline, and cap sleeves. The dress has white, ribbon top knit stripes 1/4" wide in groups of four, running horizontally down the length of the dress. The 1" hem is secured with a stockinet stitch. One of the first knit dreses imported from Italy.

- This Lounge Chair, in the collection of the Dallas Museum of Art, consists of a steel formed shell with padded white leather upholstery covering it. The chair sits on three chrome, metal legs. This piece is also commonly known by the nickname 'Coconut Chair'.
Early version of chair shell were constructed of metal while later versions had molded fiberglass shells.

- This Multiple Seating Unit, in the collection of the High Museum of Art, is constructed of a tandem seating which consists of seat back assembly with outside and inside legs as well as a corner table. The tubular, chrome plated, metal frame which supports a padded seat with backrest. The seat and backrest are also covered with a black and tan Girard fabric upholstery. The table top on the corner table is white laminate and is edge with black vinyl. - This Chest, in the collection of the Newark Museum, consists of a plain rectangular carcase veneered in rosewood. There is a slight bow to the front and a recessed base of darker wood having inlaid vertical stripes of rosewood. There are three veneered drawers to the object, each with a circular concave mat brass pull.
This piece bears partial B. Altman Label. This indicates that it was manufactured before 1939.
There is a stencil on the back with the product number indicating it was part of the 3600 series. This suggests a design date of 1936. Based on Trade Catalogue information, the original price was $149. 00. The Altman label is a crucial dating clue. Altman retailed this line for Herman Miller only up to 1939, when Herman Miller ceased retailing its furniture through other stores.
