Silk Organdy Party Dress, 1934

Description:: White silk organdy party dress with full skirt with two flounces of shite taffeta. Skirt is edged in cordered taffeta. Dress is lined in silver lame. A forerunner to the strapless dress, this dress is held up by the neckline. This item was owned by Frances Dodge (November 27, 1914 – January 24, 1971), who was the eldest daughter of John Francis Dodge (co-founder of Dodge Motor Company) and his third wife, Matilda Rausch Dodge (Wilson).
