Dr. Willis Dunbar discusses the lack of democracy in South America in the light of recent coups which overthrew four established governments. Dunbar explains the problems in refusing to recognize governments established by force and also expresses doubts about the United Nations' refusal to recognize countries which do not uphold the Declaration of Human Rights. Dunbar also says that the problem facing the establishment of democracy in South America is the rise of dictators who cater to a broad and strong worker group rather than to the elite class.
