J. H. Moores Scrapbook Collection

Description:

This collection consists of two scrapbooks, one covering the years 1866 to 1900, and the other 1910 to 1917. Although it is unclear whether the scrapbooks were assembled by J. H. Moores, due to the nature of the organization and the hand-written dates in the margins, it is strongly believed that these were created by Moores himself to document his professional career. The materials consist primarily of newspaper clippings, promotional materials, and correspondence. The correspondence is generally of a salutary and congratulatory nature, and contains very little business matters or transactions.
