Hotel Browning

Notes:
The Hotel Browning was built in 1917 by Alvah Brown. It had 250 rooms and shops on the street level. It also had a four-lane bowling alley and a billiard room. The Ferguson-Droste-Ferguson Hospital bought the building in 1938, and continued for some time to operate some of the space as a hotel. The building is located at 72-80 Sheldon Ave SE in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Photo circa 1938.
