Although a street address, "1105 Williams", is written on the reverse of the photo, no city directory shows a barbecue at that address around the time likewise written on the photo. Instead a series of churches occupied 1105 William (the only similar streetname in Lansing) for short periods of time.The building behind the sign could be a small church. The photo's reverse is also annotated with "618."
