Board of Water and Light Photographs

Description:
This collection consists of two boxes of black and white prints and negatives from the Lansing Board of Water and Light, dating from approximately 1930 to 1968. Most are water damaged and not identified. There are hundreds of 3" x 4" negatives, many of which have been water damaged and emulsion is stuck to paper sleeves or other negatives in the sleeve. Many of the photograph prints are early Polaroid Panchromatic Land Roll film (type 42) and are badly curled. Subjects that have been identified include: Dye Water Conditioning Plant Ottawa Street Power Plant Unidentified homes and other residential/undeveloped areas Machinery and structural details Steam line and water main construction in urban and residential areas Construction of pump stations and other utility facilities Due to the condition of this collection, most materials have not been digitized.
