- Photograph of stores at 107 South Washington Avenue on the east side of the street in Lansing, Michigan. A sign in the window says "J. W. Edmonds & Sons, Successors to Cannell & Edmonds." There are also small signs above the stairs at left for a Real Estate Loan Office and L. C. Blood, Notary Public. The man in the doorway is not identified.

- Photograph of the City Bookstore in Lansing, Michigan. Located on the southeast corner of Washington and Michigan avenues. Both buildings burned in 1871. Later this was the site of American State Savings Bank Building. Ted Foster used to stand in a wagon box in front of the second store and read the news from the Detroit papers which arrived by stagecoach between 4 and 5pm. via Jackson. Seven copies.

- Split Rock, or Halfway Rock, a landmark on East Michigan Avenue, Lansing. It marked the border of Lansing, and was located where East Michigan Avenue divided into a boulevard heading toward East Lansing.

- Photograph of South Washington, 100 block, west side, Lansing. The Prudden Building, built around 1900, burned in 1921. The unusual porte-cochere of the Mills Dry Goods Company (built in 1866) extends out to the curb of Washington Avenue.

- Photograph of flooding at Michigan Avenue bridge in March, 1904, Lansing. The Kalamazoo Street bridge, swept from its foundation, is visible in the river lodged under the Michigan Avenue bridge. The steel bridge was later taken back and erected at Kalamazoo Street.

- Photo of Edwin Bement, founder of E. Bement & Son, a Lansing agricultural implement firm, in 1869. It became E. Bement & Sons in the 1870's. Edwin Bement died in March, 1880.
