- View from an elevated position showing the blocks closed for parking. From the period when South Washington Street was used as parking lots from Michigan Avenue to Kalamazoo Street. In the photograph, the former Arbaugh's building appears to have been re-sided as Plaza One. According to Lansing City Council Proceedings from October 3, 1966, the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of South Washington were to be turned into a Parking Mall starting November 21, 1966. On June 9, 1989, Council ordered that the attended parking operations were to be eliminated.

Shops seen in the 300 block of South Washington Avenue: Shaw's Jewelers at 301, Federal Bake Shop at 303, Dutch Mill Bakery at 305, Mary Lee Candies at 307, Singer Sewing Machine at 309, and Hobby Hub at 311 South Washington Avenue. - Composite of four photographs. This portion of the 200 block included a Firestone tire store, National China Company, Opera House Hat Cleaners, and MacLauglin's Music Company. City Planning Division staff trimmed four photographs for this composite view. Several of the image pieces are still affixed to each other. Because the separate pieces do not match perfectly, gaps have intentionally been left in the composition. City Planning Division staff placed sequential numbers at the bottom of each piece: "C6", and "C7". Note that this composite and item 2015-06-003.V5.030 omit coverage of the Palms/Downtown Arts Theatre; it can be seen in other views including 2015-06-003.V2.009; 2015-06-003.V5.012; and 2015-06-003.V5.032.
