- World War I poster entitled, "USA Bonds" and "Weapons For Liberty." The poster shows a color drawing of a Boy Scout who is handing a sword with the words, "Be Prepared," to Lady Liberty. The poster was promoting the "Third Liberty Loan Campaign, Boy Scouts of America." The artist's name, "J. C. Leyendecker," is shown in the lower right corner of the drawing. Small printed text along the lower edge shows "American Lithographic Co., N.Y."

- Handwritten requisition for articles of clothing from Anthony Wayne to the superintendent of the clothing department, issued on June 22nd, 1793. The text of the requisition is as follows: "The Superintendent of the Clothing Department will issue for the use of a detachment of Capt. Cranford's Company of Rifle Men the following articles of clothing viz Pairs Shoes - 17 Shirts - 17 Pairs linen overalls - 17" The text on the lower left reads: "Headquarters Hobson's Choice June 22, 1793" The text on the lower right reads" "Campbell Smith Ensign & Paymaster 4th Sub Legion" followed by a signature from Anthony Wayne. Text on the verso reads: "Mr. Smith's - For Cloathing [sic] for 4th Sub Legion June 22nd, 1793 No. 3"

- Certificate appointing Edward Edgar Hartwick Captain of Company B, First Independent Battalion, Michigan National Guard, issued on April 5, 1901. The text of the certificate is as follows: "State of Michigan Military Department Aaron T. Bliss Governor and Commander in Chief To all who shall see these Presents, Greeting: Know Ye, That reposing special trust and confidence in the Patriotism, Valor, Ability and Fidelity of Edward E. Hartwick In the Name and by the Authority of the People of the State of Michigan, I do hereby appoint him Captain Company B, First Independent Battalion Michigan National Guard to rank as such from the Twentieth day of February 1901. He is therefore carefully and diligently to discharge the duties of such Office by doing and performing all things thereunto belonging AND I DO STRICTLY CHARGE AND REQUIRE all Officers and Soldiers under his command to be obedient to his orders. And he is to observe and follow such orders and directions from time to time as he shall receive from the COMMANDER IN CHIEF, the General or other Superior Officers, set over him according to the rules and discipline governing the Michigan National Guard. This Commission to continue in force during the pleasure of the Governor of the State of Michigan. In Testimony Whereof, I have caused these Patent and the Great Seal of the State to be hereunto affixed. Given under my Hand at Lansing, this Fifth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and one. By the Governor A.T. Bliss. Charles S. Pierce, Dep'y Secretary of State George H. Brown, Adjutant General" The certificate is affixed with the gold seal of the State of Michigan on the bottom left.

She is holding her red and white striped apron up in order to catch coins that are falling into it. A circular emblem near the upper right corner of the poster shows "Detroit Patriotic Fund" and "Fill the Flag." The artist's initials, "RFH," are shown at the lower right corner of the drawing.

- Sepia-toned photo mounted on a black cabinet card with gold trim bearing an image taken during the 1891 National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Detroit. A triumphal arch topped with an obelisk is in the process of being erected on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Jefferson Avenue, as viewed facing south. The framework beneath its lower right corner is visible. The structure is decorated with Civil War scenes, including the battle between the ironclads, the Monitor and Merrimack, as well as cavalry scene. Eagles and stars are posted on each corner of the structure, and it is draped with garlands. A horse-drawn streetcar passes beneath it, and many horse buggies and wagons are stopped near it. On the right are a moonlight tower, and the building housing Hanshaw and Cohen, Signs and Clarke and Readon, Printers.

The photo was taken from an elevated position across Campus Martius, looking southwest, down Fort Street. Horse-drawn streetcars and their tracks are visible along both Woodward and Fort. City Hall and the base of the moonlight tower in front of it are visible on the right. At the left is the Hammond Building, draped in banners and indicated with a blue "X," and the Bagley Memorial Fountain. "Left side Detroit City Hall - (Mother's bank marked X.)" handwritten on verso.
