- Certificate of election certifying Hazen S. Pingree's election as Governor of Michigan in 1898. It is affixed with the gold seal of the State of Michigan and red, white, and blue ribbon on the bottom left. The text of the certificate is as follows: "State of Michigan Certificate of Election We the undersigned, State Canvassers, from a careful examination of the Election Returns from all the Counties in the State of Michigan, as received by the Secretary of State do determine, as the result of our investigation, that Hazen S. Pingree has been, by the greatest number of votes, duly elected to the office of Governor of said State for the full term of Two Years from the first day of January, A.D. eighteen hundred and ninety-nine at the General Election holden on the eighth day of November A.D. 1898. Witness our Hands, at Lansing, this fifteenth day of December A.D. 1898. Washington Gardner Secretary of State Geo. A. Steel State Treasurer. Wm. A. French Com'r State Land Office. State of Michigan Office of the Secretary of State. I do hereby Certify, That I have compared the foregoing copy of the determination of the Board of State Canvassers with the original on file in this office, and that it is a correct transcript therefrom, and of the whole of such original. In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed the Great Seal of the State of Michigan, at Lansing, this sixteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eighth. - Print of a political cartoon, "'Thy Will Be Done'," by Thomas May. The cartoon shows Uncle Sam standing with bowed head and a woman, possibly "Liberty," kneeling before an American flag draped casket, likely in response to the assassination of President William McKinley. The print is signed "To my friend Miss Ida Steffin with kindest regards. Tom May. Feb. 17th 1902" on the bottom left.

The opposite side of the page includes headline reading "The Thrilling Michigan-Syracuse Football Battle" and six photographs of a football game between the University of Michigan and Syracuse University on October 28, 1916.

- VHS tape containing a message from Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick offering his congratulations to Athenia Harris upon her retirement after working for the City of Detroit for thirty years, as well as his apology for being absent from her retirement party. Kilpatrick is filmed in front of a General Motors display. A title card dates the video to January 22, 2003. The video is on a T-05 tape , with a title label on the top, housed within a clear plastic case.

- Sepia-toned panoramic photo captioned near the bottom center as, "Banquet given by The League to Enforce Peace in honor of its president, Wm. Howard Taft. Hotel Statler, Detroit. Feb. 17, 1917. Photo by Spencer & Wyckoff." Well-dressed attendees sit at round tables set up in the ballroom. Beneath an American flag, Taft is seated at the center of the head table near the wall.

- One certificate. The certificate is printed in black ink on heavy paper and was issued as a resolution by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Detroit to commemorate the death of "Thomas A. Hendricks" who was "from the front rank of prominent men of this generation." The number, "104," is shown at the top of the certificate. In the lower right corner, the certificate has been dated December 5, 1885, and signed by "Alex. A. Langer, City Clerk." An embossed, gold-colored seal with ribbon has been affixed to the certificate in the lower left corner.

- One tri-fold political handbill from the Detroit mayoral election of 1889. The handbill is printed in black text on yellowed paper and is entitled "The Tax-Payers', Business Men's and Workingmen's Candidate. For Reform in Municipal Government. Hazen S. Pingree, The Republican Nominee for Mayor." The inside pages give biographical information about the candidate, his service in the Civil War, his shoe business, a list of prominent supporters, and his letter of acceptance as mayoral nominee.
