- Michael F. Pogliano, a Saline architect, was hired to design a building that would fit in the 11-acre wooded plot purchased by the library district. Mike created a one-story, 16,450 square foot library facility with a 55-space parking lot. Placed on the northwest portion of the 11 acres, the remaining 7 acres of woodlands remained untouched and natural. A trail which winds through the woodlands for 1,100 feet was created by Becket and Raeder, landscape architects located in Ann Arbor. The new Saline District Library at 555 N. Maple Road opened in January 1994.; Photo courtesy Doris Kraushaar.
