The caption reads: "This very expensive and highly complicated machine peels the apple and removes the core with a minimum of waste at the rate of 80 apples per minute. The apples then pass over an inspection table to make sure all peelings and spots have been removed. They then pass into a slicer which insures a univorm slice so that every piece of apple gets backed alike."
