- One navigational chart entitled, "Preliminary Chart of Eagle Harbor, Lake Superior." The chart was "Surveyed and drawn under the direction of Capt. J. N. Macomb, Topl. Engrs. [Topographical Engineers] by Lieut. W. F. Raynolds, Topl Engrs., Assisted by J. U. Mueller, D. F. Henry, and J. Wallace, 1855" with "Aids to navigation corrected to February 29, 1889." The chart was drawn at a scale of 1:5,000 and covers about 2 miles of the shoreline along Lake Superior in the vicinity of Eagle Harbor, Michigan. The town of Eagle Harbor is shown along with an inset drawing that shows the approach to the harbor. The chart includes information such as soundings in feet, lake bottom characteristics, lighthouses, roads, and sailing directions. The chart was printed in black ink on white paper and was published by the Topographical Bureau of the War Department (later known as the Army Corps of Engineers).
