- One set of architectural "Specifications for Mr. William J. Burns for a Three Story Thirty Apartment Building Located on the South Side of Charlotte Avenue Between Cass and Second Avenues, Lot 14, Detroit, Michigan." The specifications (Job 264, Set No. 3) are bound in a booklet that has three brass fasteners at the top. The cover is made of heavy tan paper and includes typewritten text for the title. Printed text beneath the title shows the name, "J. Lawson Miller, Architect." The cover interior and outside back cover have printed advertisements for many contractors, tradesmen, and building materials suppliers. The booklet contains 92 pages of typewritten text that give brief descriptions of all of the materials and construction requirements for the project. An index is shown on the first page. Many handwritten pencil revisions have been made throughout the booklet.

- One architectural drawing entitled "Thirty Apartment Building for Mr. William J. Burns, Detroit, Michigan." The drawing consists of black ink on linen and shows a front elevation view and architectural details for a proposed 3-story apartment building that was located on Charlotte Avenue between Cass and Second Avenues in Detroit. The name, "Wilburne," is shown over the building entrance doorway. This drawing, shown at a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot, was part of a set of eleven sheets that were prepared by "J. Lawson Miller, Architect, Detroit, Michigan." Some blue, green and yellow pencil shading has been added on the verso to highlight various architectural details. A red ink stamp on the lower right edge shows "Plans Examined and Approved, Mar. 2, 1916, Department of Buildings, City of Detroit, by H. C. Slater."
