- Black and white print negative depicting the exterior of Buhl, Sons, and Company Hardware, Iron, and Nails, which is a large four story building located on the south side of Woodbridge Street, west of Wayne Street. A cigar store Indian stands at the lower left corner of the image. Verso also notes that this was taken in 1881 and was originally sepia. Border of mounting from the original photo this was reproduced from has been captured as well.

- Sepia-toned photo of the Carkeek Printing Company building taken from a ship docked at the Nicholson-Universal Steamship Company docks at the foot of First Street. A group of men stand along the riverfront outside of the company's garage. A woman stands behind a large upright wooden barrier to which two posters have been hung at the foot of the dock, while two other woman stand on the dock at the lower portion of the frame. The Standart Brothers Hardware Corporation building stands in the background. "Detroit dock 1923," is handwritten in the bottom border.

- Black and white photo of the exterior of the Detroit Edison Company office on the southeast corner of Washington Boulevard and State Street, as taken from an elevated position to the northwest. A large flag is flown from the building's roof. An Albert A. Albrecht Company, Builders sign is posted on a construction canopy over the sidewalk along the office's State Street face. Signs for shoe repair and jewelry stores are posted on the Sun Building, beside Detroit Edison along State. The edge of the Cadillac Hotel, to the south of Detroit Edison along Washington, is visible along the right edge of frame. Cars, pedestrians, and streetcar rails are visible in the streets below. "General Office - Detroit Edison War Flag Raising," and "M-5237 4-6-17." are printed along the bottom edge of the image.

- Sepia-toned photograph of City Hall, as taken from the center of Campus Martius, decorated with American flags and patriotic banners, as well as a sign that reads, "Welcome Admiral and Mrs. Dewey," to greet the visiting Spanish-American War hero George Dewey. An elevated seating box is set up on the sidewalk in front of City Hall. Pedestrians and horse-drawn carts are in the streets. A moonlight tower stands along the right edge of the frame.

- Cabinet card bearing a circular sepia-toned image of L.L. Farnsworth's shoe store on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Michigan Avenue as taken from the south. A sign posted on the southern face of the building advertises, "boots, shoes, and rubbers." Signs for Marratt's photo studio, and J.L. Hudson's clothing visible on the sides of their respective buildings in the background. Streetcar tracks run along Michigan in the foreground, and numerous pedestrians are in view. The card has a burgundy border with a gold edge. A Kodak mark and a floral pattern are printed on the verso of the card.

- One map print entitled "Detroit - Prior to the Fire of June 11, 1805." The map shows the layout of the town and fort as of June, 1805, including the names and locations of property owners at that time as well as lot numbers, lot dimensions, street names, and right-of way widths. The map area extends from Griswold Street on the east, to the Detroit River on the south, to Cass Street on the west, and to Fort Street on the north. The map also shows the extent of filling which occurred along the shoreline from 1805 up 1889. The title block in the lower left corner indicates that the map was "prepared by C. M. Burton, Wayne County Abstract Office, from Official Records." The drawing was done by "R. J. Mackey, Draughtsman," at a scale of 1/2 inch = 60 feet and is dated 1889.

Major roads and buildings are visible. Various cargo and passenger steamships can be seen in the foreground on the Detroit River. Small printed text along the lower left edge of the oval shows "Copyrighted by Hurd Wheeler Co., Detroit, Mich., 1907." Printed text in the lower left and right corners of the sheet show statistical information concerning the rapid growth of population, homes, building permits, manufacturing, and other economic measures.

- One map entitled "City of Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, 1853." The map is drawn at an approximate scale of 1 inch = 510 feet. The area of coverage extends from the Canadian shoreline of the Detroit River northward about 6 miles and from Eighth Street on the west to just past St. Aubin Street on the east. The map is printed in black text on darkened paper that has a slightly glossy varnish or lacquer finish. Park areas are tinted green and water areas are tinted blue. The map shows street names, buildings, houses, railroad lines, lot numbers, ward numbers, and farm names. Acreages are also shown for larger parcels that are located north of the Grand Circus Park area. A column of printed text down the left side of the map shows name and address listings for Churches, Public Buildings, Banks & Exchange Offices, Telegraph Offices, Newspaper Offices, and Hotels. Printed text beneath the map title shows "Surveyed & published by Henry Hart, Civil Engineer & Architect, 140 Pearl St., N.Y."

- Postcard. Colorized photographic postcard depicting The Ford Building from an elevated position across the corner of Griswold Street and West Congress Street. Streetcars, pedestrians, and cars are visible in the streets. Verso reads, "1393-The Ford Building, Griswold and Congress Streets, is the largest office building in Michigan. It is 19 stories in height, towers 275 feet above the street level, contains 559 offices and cost Edward Ford, of Toledo, its owner, $1,500,000. Its entire front is of enamel terra cotta and it is considered a model of beautiful architecture." Card was mailed and postmark reads, "Detroit, Mich. Oct. 10, 12 -M, 1911."

Sepia-toned photographic postcard depicting an early fire engine being pulled by three white horses south on Woodward Avenue through Grand Circus Park, as spectators line the sidewalk to watch. In addition to the driver, a firefighter sits in the front of the engine while another holds onto the rear. The photo was taken near Park Street and Woodward Avenue, facing north. Central United Methodist Church, and the Hotel Wolverine are visible in the background. "Photo by Straghota" printed in lower left. The verso has extensive handwritten notes: 1920 Last Run at corner of Woodward & Adams Ave. Methodist Church in background & Wolverine Hotel also in background. Engine #9 Engine Seat- Harry Neville Engine at backend- George Moore Driver- Engine Weight - 6 tons Ball bearings in the wheels 3 men could turn engine around Hard rubber tires on engine. 20 lbs. steam on engine at all times.
