Contains the articles "Operations of the Thyroid Gland," by Theodore H. McGraw, "On the Abuse of Local Treatment in Nasal Disorders," by E.L. - 4-page letter written by Morse Stewart, M.D. It was typewritten in black text onto slightly yellowed, thin linen paper and is entitled, "Medical Reminiscences of the Nineteenth Century. The last page is signed in black ink, "Morse Stewart, M.D." The body of the letter gives a brief overview of medical practice and education in Detroit in the 19th century. Each page has several handwritten corrections.

- Seventeen page promotional booklet for Scott's Emulsion, containing seven color lithographs of maps, scenes, and products of South America and the Caribbean spread throughout unrelated pages of text concerning the history of medicine and the various ailments that Scott's Emulsion can remedy. The cover depicts a young boy holding book and pointing to South America on a globe, while saying, "There's where you came from," top a parrot perched on his shoulder. "Copyright 1906 by American Lithographic Co. N.Y." is printed on the lower left corner of the cover. The verso includes a space below the words, "Scott's Emulsion Sold By," for a merchant's stamp, however this area is blank.

- A book of receipts bound in cardboard. The receipts are for medicines received from Thomas P. Dickinson, for medicines to be resold on commission. The medicines listed on each receipt are Dickinson's Universal C. & C. Annihilator, Dickinson's Universal Life Pills, Dickinson's Universal Strengthening Plaster, and Dickinson's Universal Healing Salve. Only the first three receipts have been filled out. They are all dated 1885. The first is signed by A. Ruttedge, the second by G.R. Roburn, and the third by J. Thatcher. The prices are all expressed in pounds sterling.
