- Photograph. Sepia-toned gelatin silver photo of a decorated automobile that was part of the Detroit Bi-Centenary Parade. The car body and wheels are covered with artificial flowers. Two men are seated in the front seat of the auto and two women are seated in the back. All are well-dressed and one of the women is holding a parasol. Several bystanders can be seen in the background which appears to be a city park. One man is standing in the street near the front of the auto. (The same man can also be seen in photo 1953.026.018 so it is possible that he was involved with the parade organization or was an assistant to the photographer.) Handwriting on the verso notes "Olds Automobile for Mrs. James H. Donovan and Mrs. Marguerite Beaubien. Also R. E. Olds & Frederick Smith."

- Description:
- Handwritten letter of recommendation with envelope written by Harry A. O'Brien, the head of Northwestern High School's Commercial Department, to Paull Fitzgerald of First National Bank on behalf of Northwestern graduate Harold Nunez, dated January 20, 1922. The letter is on Northwestern High School stationery. O'Brien explains that Nunez excelled in his bookkeeping class. O'Brien suggests Nunez as a candidate for the positions open to high school graduates of which he was recently notified. The envelope bear's the recipient's handwritten name, "Mr. Paull Fitzgerald, First National Bank."

- One letter from the Baugh Steam Forge Company of Detroit to Ruhle Brothers of Philadelphia, dated February 9, 1878. The letterhead is printed in black script on white paper with a watermark that shows "Calvert Lith. Co., Detroit." The letter message is handwritten in black ink as follows: "Mssrs. Ruhle Brothers, Philadelphia. Dear Sirs. In reply to yours of the 6th. Your price is now so much in advance of other standard manufacturers that we felt obliged to place our orders elsewhere. Perhaps we may be able to do something with you at some future time, at present we are supplied. Yours truly, Baugh Steam Forge Co. Fil'd."

- One blueprint drawing entitled, "Proposed River Passenger (Screw) Steamer Star Line." The drawing shows a port side exterior profile view and a main deck plan view of the proposed passenger steamship, Sylvan City. The title block shows that the drawing was prepared by the Detroit Dry Dock Company of Detroit, Michigan, at a scale of 1/8 inch = 1 foot. The plan is dated November, 1885.

- One postcard entitled "Band Concert, Belle Isle, Detroit, Mich." The postcard shows a color photographic image of canoeists who are afloat on one the Belle Isle canals and are listening to a band concert. Other audience members are seated along the canal banks. Musicians can be seen in the distance beneath the canopy that is located on a bridge over the canal. Printed text on the verso shows "Band Concert, Belle Isle, Detroit, Mich. One of the attractive features are the live concerts given at the city's expense during the summer months. Thousands of people attend these concerts and during the progress, the canals are covered with many canoes."
