- Looking south from the middle of the 100 block of North Washington Avenue, east side. The Prudden and Hollister Buildings in the 100 block of South Washington Avenue are prominent in this image. Signs for Broadway Lunch, Public Loans, Merrit and Bailey Shoes, and Hardy's Mens Wear can be seen. Many people are on the sidewalks. City Planning Division staff trimmed and annotated the photo.

- Edward R. Sparrow's offices were located in the Hollister Block at 122 South Washington Avenue at the corner of West Allegan Street. The photograph dates to around 1911.

- Cunningham's Drugs is at 100 South Washington Avenue. The Holly Lansing Grill is at 104, Baker's Shoe Store at 106. On West Michigan Avenue, the Prudden building entrance is 109, Archy's Lounge at 111, Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada and the House of Beef restaurant at 113 are followed by the Hotel Olds at 125 West Michigan Avenue.
