- Barkham Mill was located on the west side of Main Street at First Street, on the Clinton River. It was built in 1837 by Johnson Niles and was originally known as Old South Grist Mill. The business changed hands several times and was acquired by Steven W. Barkham and Beal Barkham in 1903. The mill was destroyed by fire in December 1927.
