- President Barack Obama reflects on his final appearance at the White House Correspondents' Association Annual Dinner. He pokes fun at himself, his relationship with the press, former Speaker of the House John Boehner, the prospective Republican and Democratic 2016 presidential candidates, and cable news channels. Obama jokes about how the job has aged him, and speculates on what he will do in retirement. A film clip is shown with John Boehner and others coaching Obama on retirement. Obama praises journalists around the world who have gone above and beyond to tell the truth while facing death and imprisonment. He concludes by saying "Obama out" and dropping the microphone. White House Correspondents' Association President Carol Lee introduces Obama and offers a toast to him.

- President Barack Obama announces that he will nominate Leon Panetta as Secretary of Defense, General David Petraeus to be Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Marine Lt. General John Allen to succeed Petraeus, and Ryan Crocker to serve as U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan. Obama begins his remarks by discussing the storms and tornadoes that swept across several southern states the previous evening killing almost 300 people. Obama praises the records of outgoing Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, as well as Panetta, Petraeus, Allen and Crocker. All five men speak briefly.

- William Donohue, professor of Communication at Michigan State University and former MSU Faculty Grievance Offical (FGO), in a follow-up interview, talks further about his work as FGO. Donohue and interviewer John Revitte, MSU professor emeritus in the School Human Resources and Labor Relations, discuss why he accepted the FGO position and how it fit with his academic interests as well as why the position went to half-time. Donohue and Revitte compare their respective experiences as FGO and discuss some of the reasons why grievances were filed. Donohue says he tried to counsel administrators on how to resolve matters with a less confrontational approach and advocates for the value of mediating disagreements instead of filing a grievance.

- Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) announces his resignation as speaker and as a U.S. Representative from Ohio's 8th District. Boehner describes his life before becoming a politician and lists his successes as speaker of the house, including passing comprehensive entitlement reform, keeping taxes from being raised, and improving the lives of people in the Washington D.C. area. Boehner congratulates his successor Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin and tells him that "...if you just do the right things for the right reasons, good things will happen."
