Obama says that the Selma marches were part of a "broader campaign that spanned generations," and suggests that the work of the campaign for freedom is not yet complete. He asks the members of congress in the audience to go back to Washington and find the support needed to strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and also calls on all Americans to work together to "continually try to improve this great nation of ours."
