The drawing consists of black ink on linen and shows various details of the double gate and posts at the main entrance to the fort. The details are shown at scales of 3/4 inch = 1 foot and 1 1/2 inches = 1 foot as noted on the plan sheet. Handwritten text beneath the title shows "George Ruhlen, Capt. and A.Q.M. [Assistant Quarter Master], U.S. Army," and is dated March 25, 1895.

- Description:
- One blueprint drawing entitled "U. S. Lake Survey, Detail of Intermediate Sweep Float." The drawing shows the design of a float (buoy) that was used as part of a sweep for obtaining water depth information. The sweep consisted of a line of 15 floats with flags, spaced at 100-foot intervals, that supported an underwater wire at a set depth. The line of buoys would then be dragged across an area of water by launches at each end of the buoy line. If the wire encountered any submerged obstructions, it would cause one or more float (buoy) flags to tip and thereby give an approximate location of an obstruction that could be investigated further. Such obstructions could then be plotted on the navigational charts that were produced by the Lake Survey Office. The plan is dated January, 1915.

The drawing consists of black and red ink on linen and shows plan and cross-section views of one of the casemates along the fort walls. The views have been drawn at a scale of 1 inch = 8 feet. Elevation contour lines and dimensions are included with the drawing details. Handwritten text in the lower right corner shows "Engineer Department, January 10, 1863, Sent to Captain Blunt with letters of this date."

- One navigational chart entitled, "General Chart of the Northern and Northwestern Lakes, Including New York State Canals and Lake Champlain," that was compiled and published by the U.S. Lake Survey, War Department, Corps of Engineers. The chart (No. 0) is a polyconic projection and is drawn at a scale of 1:1,200,000. It shows all of the Great Lakes region from Duluth, Minnesota, to Lake Champlain and the Hudson River in New York. General topographic details and notes are printed in black. Land areas are shaded pale yellow. Lake areas are shaded white or light blue depending upon water depth and also include contour lines for water depths in fathoms. Lines of latitude and longitude are shown in black. Lines of magnetic variation are shown in red. Principal lighthouses are shown in red and yellow. Information tables are shown on the right and left sides of the chart for U. S. and Canadian canals, dry dock locations, and annual lake level fluctuations. Printed text near the center lower edge shows "Aids to Navigation Corrected from Information Received to June 20, 1916."

- One drawing entitled "Survey of N. and N.W. Lakes" and "Standards of Length." Notes in the upper left corner show "Lt. Col. G. J. Lydecker, Corps of Engineers, U.S.A., in charge" and that the drawing (Plate I) was "To accompany report of Asst. Eng. E. E. Haskell." The plan is drawn in black ink on linen and is dated July 1, 1898. The drawing shows plan, elevation, and cross-section views of an apparatus that was used to compare measuring instruments against a standard 8 meter bar. The name, "A. Mangelsdorf," is shown in the lower right corner of the sheet.

- Description:
- One cover letter, dated May 22, 1925, from Lt. Col. E.J. Dent of the War Department to the Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Company. The letter has been typewritten in black ink on white paper that is watermarked "Madewell Bond." It indicates that a permit has been issued by the War Department to Dunbar & Sullivan which allows for fill and riprap placement around Stony Island. A 2-page permit is attached which consists of one page of typewritten permit details and one page of standard conditions.

- One mylar copy of a map entitled, "Tracing from a Map of Springwells by Lieuts. Macomb & Warner, T.E. [Topographical Engineers], 1841, with the Addition of Outlines of Fort Wayne and Public Grounds, Sept., 1865." A signature beneath the title shows "December 12, 1865, (Sd) [Signed] T. J. Cram, Col. Corps Eng'rs." The map shows the existing topography along the Detroit River from the River Rouge to about 2 miles upstream from Fort Wayne. Several roads are shown including Main Road (now Jefferson Avenue), Wood Road, and Fort Street. Also, several mounded areas are shown in the vicinity of the fort which may be the Indian Mounds that were known to exist in the Delray area of Springwells Township. A small portion of the Canadian side of the Detroit River is shown in the area of Sandwich (Windsor), Ontario. A note in the lower right corner area of the map shows the scale as "1 Foot to a Mile" or 1:5,280.
