- A French band of stringed instruments (three violins, one cello, a guitar, a mandolin, and a banjo) plays a tune near the compound fence at Koenigsbrueck. At least three of the instruments were self-made by the prisoners in the camp. Skilled carpenters could produce musical instruments to provide entertainment for the war prisoners.

- Prisoners of war at Friedrichsfeld display their handicraft work at an exposition. Their work includes drawings, paintings, model airplanes and ships, the Eifel Tower, toys, chests, a violin, and a wide range of other projects. Prisoners often made some money by selling their handicrafts when these expositions traveled to neutral countries.

- Three wooden figurines. Two are dressed in Far Eastern costume, with turbans, sashes, and loose pantalettes. The third is in military regalia. One of the Far Eastern figures is standing on a base lettered “Grotto Levy”; the other's base is lettered: “A. Ogden & Co”. (Dudley Waters collection of wooden Indians).
