- Colorized halftone print of a photograph depicting the west side of Campus Martius, as viewed from an elevated position, likely from the Pontchartrain Hotel. The primary copy has bolder colors and is mounted on beige cardstock. The secondary copy has lighter colors, and includes the title, "'The Heart of Detroit' - Reproduced from Photograph," as well as the notation, " Jos. Mack, Printer, Detroit." Both versions include captions below labeling the Post Office, City Hall, Pardridge and Blackwell in the Majestic Building, the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Merrill Fountain, and the Opera House. A sign reading, "Welcome National Hay Association" is posted on the front of City Hall. The moonlight tower in front of City Hall on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Michigan Avenue is visible. Electric streetcars, horse-drawn carriages, and pedestrians are on the streets below. "1902-1903" handwritten on lower right corner of secondary copy, and "Fine Cigars and Tobacco, Confectionary, Soft Drinks, and School Supplies, Etc., 528 Dix Ave. Detroit, Mich." stamped on its verso.

This folio, Part Thirteen, has a gray/green paper cover that is printed in brown text. - Two photographic prints mounted to opposite sides of the same oval-shaped board. Recto bears a sepia-toned photo of City Hall Market, an open-air marked filled with booths, horses, and carts set up behind the City Hall that was in service until 1872, in the present site of Cadillac Square. A sign for "Provisions" is visible along the storefronts on the left side of the picture. A man, three children, a dog, and a horse and a cart are in the middle ground. A woman with a parasol, and a fence or railing that reads, "Hanging 102" is in the foreground. Verso bears a hand-colorized portrait of a seated woman in a purple dress, with white sleeves and a collar. Her hair is pulled back into a chignon and she wears a cross around her neck.

- Sepia-toned photo mounted on a black cabinet card with gold trim bearing an image taken during the 1891 National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Detroit. The photo was taken from an elevated position across Campus Martius, looking southwest, down Fort Street. Horse-drawn streetcars and their tracks are visible along both Woodward and Fort. City Hall and the base of the moonlight tower in front of it are visible on the right. At the left is the Hammond Building, draped in banners and indicated with a blue "X," and the Bagley Memorial Fountain. "Left side Detroit City Hall - (Mother's bank marked X.)" handwritten on verso.
