- Description:
- This "A" line, wool jersey woman's dress (of about knee length) has a black and white herringbone pattern with large black and white flowers applied. The short sleeves are cut in one with the dress. The high, round neck is closed by a back zipper. There is a 7" slit in the left side hem. The sleeve, neck and bust are piped with red and orange to suggest the traditional Chinese side fastening dress. Label: "Dry Clean Only, 100% Wool, Rudi Gernreich design for Harmon knit wear."

- Heavy white linen dress printed with medium pink flower and leaf design. Strapless, fitted bodice with heart-shaped neckline. Full skirt. Seams do not match in center-front, sides. Clothing label: BALENCIAGA/10 AVENUE GEORGE V/PARIS. The Henry Ford has interesting correspondence concerning this dress, a design drawing indicating that the original dress had straps, and a photograph of a mannequin in the dress.

- Horizontally striped taffeta dress in green, blue, pale blue, and pink. Taffeta covered in navy blue machine lace in floral design. Strips of lavender, blue, and pink taffeta applied to lace in front; two vertical, three horizontal. Long rectangular lace shawl with same taffeta strips at either end and two strips placed on diagonal. Strapless bodice boned and slightly elongated at waist.Clothing label: ORIGINAL/CARRIE MUNN/NEW YORK. This garment was owned by Elizabeth Parke Firestone, daughter of Mr. Harvey Firestone of Detroit, Michigan.Elizabeth Parke Firestone wore this dress to the rehearsal dinner for the wedding of her daughter Martha Firestone Ford to Mr. William Clay Ford in June, 1947. The style is typical of Carrie Munn's work.
