- This map shows the infamous "death march" of British and Indian prisoners from Kut-al-Amara to Turkish prison camps in Anatolia. Starved, sick, and wounded POW's went up the Tigris River and to cross the Syrian Desert on foot before they reached the rail line at Ras-el-Ain. Thousands of Anglo-Indian prisoners died during the forced march and the cruel treatment by the Turks became a major political issue in Britain.

- A student recites his lesson for the school master in this unidentified prison camp school. Red Triangle secretaries convinced Austro-Hungarian officials to segregate boys from the main POW populations and establish schools to educate them. YMCA secretaries helped to organize and supervise these schools. The Association's goal was to educate these boys and make them prosperous citizens in the new post-war Europe.

- A group of British and French prisoners pose for a photograph at a prisoner collection center in Courtrai, Belgium. The photograph included Lt. Pat O'Brien, an American who served as a pilot with the Royal Flying Corps, who was shot down behind enemy lines (he is standing in the center of the photograph behind the seated German guard). O'Brien paid a German guard a Mark for the photograph.

- This is a view of the interior of the grain storage facility at Milejgany in Lithuania where the Germans imprisoned more than 450 French hostages in January 1918.

- Drawing of the interior of an internees' room at the Ruhleben prison camp. Three internees lived in a horse box inside of the stables of the race track. Internees were free to acquire property to improve their standard of living. British civilians made the best with the existing horse stables where they were assigned for living quarters.
