Wonderland Vaudeville is depicted to the right of the opera house. The thoroughfares are aligned with streetcars, pedestrians and horse carriages. A note is written on the verso to Miss Florence Ward of Alanson, Mich. The date of the postcard is determined by the postmark, not when it was produced.

- Sepia-toned photo mounted on a black cabinet card with gold trim bearing an image taken during the 1891 National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Detroit. Photo was taken at street level through a crowd gathered in Campus Martius facing northeast. The Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, the Second Williams Block of the Monroe Block, and the Central Market Building are visible through the sea of hats, umbrellas, and flags. Banners have been draped from the Central Market Building. "In front City Hall, (in square) Detroit Mich, during G.A.R. meeting there (about 1889.) City crowded. Citizens took in hundreds of visitors. Soldiers Monument in background. Old Russel House, famous hotel, to right of Soldiers Monument. Papa (Geo. Atwater) & his mother & Anne Marthington & others stopped there when on for our wedding in Nov. 19, 1901." handwritten on verso.

The design includes a central image of two women, three uniformed soldiers, and a dog mourning around a flag-draped casket. Battlefield scenes decorate the corners of the borders.

The square is filled with rows of parked early automobiles. The Pontchartrain Hotel, City Hall, the Majestic Building, the Ford Building, Dime Building, and the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Campus Martius are all in view. Visible businesses include Gregg Hardware; a bar; the Gayety Theatre; the Old Kentucky Whiskey Company; the Wobrock Hotel; the American Hotel; Schroeder Paint and Glass Company; Cadillac Market; a bowling alley; McIntosh Bar; the Gregory, Mayer, and Thom Company; Home Candy Works; the Family Theatre; the Sweeney-Huston Company; Weil and Company Furniture; F.G. Clayton Company, Clothing; and Cadillac Burlesque. There are also advertisements for Calumet Baking Powder and the Ringling Brothers Circus. The word "red" above an arrow pointing to the Gregory, Mayer, and Thom Company has been added in pencil. "Gray" and an arrow have been written above City Hall. A note on the verso adds, "Gregory, Mayer and Thom Building red brick with stone trimmings," as well as "c.1913-1919."

- Black and white photo taken of Campus Martius and Cadillac Square from an elevated position on City Hall, facing west. The Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument stands in the center of the frame. Along the north side of Cadillac Square are the Second Williams Block topped with a Walker and Company sign for Goodrich Tires, Stilwill's Cafe, a candy store, the Burns Hotel, and other signs advertising Diamond Tires and Altes Lager. The Pontchartrain Hotel stands on the south side of Cadillac Square. To the west at the far end of Cadillac Square is the Wayne County Building. Three streetcars pass in the foreground, pedestrians mill about, and cars are parked in front of the Pontchartrain Hotel. "Cadillac Sq. 1914," is printed in the lower left.
