In view are the Book Building, Hotel Statler, David Whitney Building, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cadillac Hotel, Alexander Macomb Monument, a fountain, and a sign reading "Edison". Printed on verso: Washington Boulevard runs from Michigan Ave. to Grand Circus Park. The monument in foreground was donated by Daughters of the American Revolution in honor of General Macomb. - One postcard entitled "Detroit - The Automobile Capital of the World." The postcard has two color images of downtown Detroit buildings with a black and white drawing of an automobile in the foreground. The image on the right is a view of Campus Martius, including City Hall, the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Hammond Building, Guardian Building, and Penobscot Building. On the right is a view of Washington Boulevard with the David Whitney Building on the immediate left. The number, "37," is shown in the upper right corner of the postcard. Printed blue text on the verso shows "Situated of the banks of the Detroit River, directly across from Canada is America's industrial giant, Detroit. With a population of over 1,500,000, it is fourth largest in the United States. It has over 2,300 industrial plants, and yet is a city of warmth, culture, and good entertainment." Additional printed text shows "Pub. By Arcadia Greeting Card Co., Detroit, Michigan." and "A 'Colourpicture' Publication, Boston 15, Mass., U.S.A."

- Sepia-toned photo of the construction site where the Cadillac Hotel was demolished to make way for the Book-Cadillac Hotel taken from the southwest corner of Washington Boulevard and Michigan Avenue, facing northeast. The lot is surrounded by a wooden fence with a construction canopy over the sidewalk. A sign for the foundation-laying company Spencer, White, and Prentis is posted above the fence. The Detroit Commerce Building with signage on its roof for the People's Outfitting Company is visible to the east of the site along Michigan. A police officer stands in the center of the street in the foreground as a man in a boater hat crosses. An electric streetcar proceeds east on Michigan on the right side of frame. Shadow, presumably of fingers over the lens, partially obscure the Detroit Edison Company office, the Washington Boulevard Building and the Alexander Macomb Monument on the left side of frame.

- Sepia-toned photo of a group of people dressed as circus performers promoting the film, "Her Elephant Man," posed in front of the exterior of the William Fox Washington Theatre, as taken from Washington Boulevard. The group consists of several clowns, musicians, and a pair of men in dark suits and hats. A pair of large signs promoting the film, flank the entrance, and a banner posted above reads, "William and Farnum Greatest Show on Earth, To Day, Main Entrance." A Spencer and Wyckoff Commercial Photographers stamp is on the verso.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing two employees of the Edison Illuminating Company who are seated in a company truck. The vehicle is parked beside the median on Washington Boulevard and the men are wearing heavy overcoats and hats. The vehicle is right-hand drive with the steering wheel being located on the right side. Its engine compartment is covered with an insulating blanket and the ground is lightly covered with snow. A fountain is running in the boulevard median which is creating a winter ice sculpture. The 4-story brick building in the center background area is the Edison Company building (formerly Station A of the Edison Illuminating Company) and the name is shown on a lighted sign at the corner and in stone at the top of the building. Part of St. Aloysius Catholic Church can be seen at the far left side of the photo. A date in the lower right corner of the photo shows "1-14-14." An accompanying typewritten note shows "This photograph was sent to L. C. Nanry by Jack Redfield, appliance service supervisor for Consumers Power, 9/22/58. Employees shown in truck are: driver - Joseph Henrion, passenger - Fred Lemelin."

- Black and white photo of the State Street face of the Edison Building on the southeast corner of Washington Boulevard and State Street, taken during its conversion from the Edison Illuminating Company's Station A to the company's offices, from across State to the northeast. Several windows, and in some cases, the surrounding brickwork have been removed, and workers are visible inside. A construction canopy has been erected above the sidewalk along State Street. A sign for a loan office is posted on the Sun Building on the left edge of frame. In the background on the right, the Reliable Furniture and Carpet Company, the W. G. Arthur Reid Company, Mazda Lamps, and Fulmer's Cigar Store are visible on the west side of Washington Boulevard. "Main Office Progress - Reconstructing 2nd & 3rd Floor," and "M-5020 12-8-16," are printed along the bottom of the image.
