Hudson Company Department Store addition, Himelhoch's Department Store and the already existing Hudson's building. A series of automobiles are parked on Woodward adjacent to the curb; a man can be seen working on the newly formed sidewalk in front of the addition. Signage for the Fourth Liberty Loan is affixed to the façade of the Hudson's building. Also, the Ferry Building is visible in the left foreground with flags displayed above the entryway. The date is printed on the front of the recto, "Oct. 16. - 18." Also, the photography studio's name, and geographic location are embossed on the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit."

- Print. A sepia-toned composite photograph of Mabley and Company, located on Woodward Avenue, mounted on cardboard. The left and right side images are of the facades of Mabley and Company locations on the east side and west side of Woodward Avenue; pedestrians and horse carriages neighbor the structure in either image. The central image depicts the thoroughfare of Woodward Avenue populated by streetcars and horse carriages. Printed at the top center of the recto reads, "Mabley & Company." Also, printed along the bottom edge of the recto reads, "Bazaar and Shoe House. Woodward Ave. Clothing and Furniture House." Text printed on the verso reads, "This photograph is one of a series of exterior and interior views of the 62 departments included in Mabley & Company's 15 Stores, located in Detroit, Michigan , as follows: 122, 124, 126, 128, 130, 132 & 134 Woodward Avenue, East Side, 121, 123, 125,m 127 & 129 Woodward Avenue West Side. Rolshoven Co., is visible on the corner, and Hudson's is visible, adjacent on Gratiot. Automobiles are parked along the curb, and are also moving along the thoroughfare. Streetcars and horse carriages are also visible. Pedestrians populate the sidewalk, and the intersections. The subject, date, and photographic sequence numbers are printed on the bottom of the recto, "Hudson's; August 15 - 14; No. - 13.; 7882." Also, the photographer's name, and geographic location are stamped on the verso, "Charles Ruel Messinger, Commercial Photographer, 1646 Woodward Ave. Detroit, Mich.
