Printed on verso: The Washington Arcade Building - On Woodward Avenue near Grand Circus Park is one of the many handsome office structures to be found in this part of the city. It extends from Woodward Avenue through to Washington Boulevard and was erected by Frank J. Hecker in 1901. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Mar 10, 1910.

The lower portion is occupied by business houses, but the upper portion has many fine churches and residences. - One booklet entitled, "32 Years Ago," which was published by the Union Trust Company to commemorate their 32nd year of business. The company was founded in 1891 and the booklet was published in 1923. The booklet consists of a single panoramic strip of halftone photographic images that show downtown Detroit storefronts along the east side of Woodward Avenue as of 1891. The tall building on the right is the new Y.M.C.A., which was erected in 1908; and the entire cost of same will be in the neighborhood of $700,,000.00. This is one of the most complete buildings of its kind in the country and boasts of a gymnasium second to none. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Jul 2, 1910.
