- One book entitled "Log Book Schooner Augusta, 1856. Log Book Sch. Acontius, 1857-1858. Capt. S. G. Gibbs." The log book has a heavy cardboard cover that has a thin brown leather covering. The title text is handwritten in black ink across the front cover. The book contains approximately 140 un-numbered leaves of white paper with pre-printed light blue lines. All of the pages have been filled in on both sides with blue or black handwritten text that gives details of the ship voyages. The first entry for the Schooner August began in Oswego, NY, on April 7, 1856, and concluded in Oswego on November 22, 1856. The first entry for the Schooner Acontius began in Milwaukee on May 1, 1857, with the final entry being made at Gravelly Bay [Lake Erie] on April 8, 1858.

Lachman for a Solid Brick Three Story, Seven Stores and Twenty-One Apartment Building Located on the North West Corner of Michigan and Wesson Avenues, Lots 1 & 2, Detroit, Michigan." The specifications (Job 282, Set No. 1) are bound in a booklet that has three brass fasteners at the top. The cover is made of heavy tan paper and includes typewritten text for the title. Printed text beneath the title shows the name, "J. Lawson Miller, Architect." The cover interior and outside back cover have printed advertisements for many contractors, tradesmen, and building materials suppliers. The booklet contains 92 pages of typewritten text that give brief descriptions of all of the materials and construction requirements for the project. An index is shown on the first page.

Printed on verso: The Largest Stove in the World, Michigan Stove Co., Detroit, Mich. This Garland Stove is the largest in the world and is located on the grounds of the Michigan Stove Company. Directly underneath this for years stood the stump of a tree that marked the place where Chief Pontiac met his death in one of the bloodiest battles ever fought in this section of the country. - Program booklet for the Fourth Annual Fireman's Ball held by the Association of Ex-Members Detroit Steam Fire Department at Bamlet's Hall on Monday, April 3, 1899. The booklet consists of a half-folded sheet bound with blue string ending in a brown tassel into a half-folded cover--since torn at the crease--with a color illustration of a firefighter using a hose, while another firefighter runs holding an ax and a hook in the background on the front, and a fire hydrant on the back. The program of dances to be performed as well as the list of committee members are contained within. The program was printed by Watko and Dietz at 690 Gratiot Avenue.

- Plan for the Konaske Airship, designed by Art Konaske of 180 Mack Street, stapled to a two page note to Russell A. Alger Jr. written on Hotel Griswold stationery, and dated February 17, 1916. The plan shows a profile cut-away of a small military airship with a enclosed gondola with two seats--one for the pilot, and the other for a gunner. The airship's balloon is outfitted with an airfoil, and both vertical and horizontal propellers are employed for lift and propulsion. The note reads: Mr. Russell A. Alger, Dear Sir, Enclosed find blueprint circular of airship, which I hope may prove of interest to you. It is going to be a sure winner and as I am told, you are "Pres. of Aviation Club." Would be glad to have interview at your convenience to explain details and mfg. etc. A phone call will find me at above hotel--Rm 416 for appointment for interview which shall try to make of much interest to you.
