- Description:
- "Number 5, Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Co. First Mortgage, 5 Per Cent, $5000 Registered Gold Bond" (5 of 30). The bond is printed in printed in red, green, and black ink on white paper that is watermarked "Broun-Green Beaver Bond." It has a decorative engraved green border with engraved images at the top that depict Lady Liberty and other figures that represent American industry and a bountiful harvest. Black, Old-English style text shows the company name, "Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Co." and lists the terms of the bond issuance and repayment. The bond has been signed by "Harris T. Dunbar, President," and "Frederick C. Slee, Secretary," and is dated March 15, 1904. The 20-year bonds were due for repayment on March 15, 1924. A round, embossed company seal is located near the lower left corner of the bond. The verso contains blank spaces which have handwritten text that show the date and name in whom the bond was registered along with the signature of the company Treasurer. Other handwritten text and notes showed subsequent bond ownership reassignments with signatures.

- One booklet entitled "Specifications - Mr. Harry A. Armstrong for a Frame Single Residence Located on the West Side of Greenwood Ave., Between Harmon and Vinewood Aves., Birmingham, Michigan." The architectural specifications (Job 268, Set No. 1) are bound in a booklet that has three brass fasteners at the top. The cover is made of heavy tan paper and includes typewritten text for the title. Printed text beneath the title shows the name, "J. Lawson Miller, Architect." The cover interior and outside back cover have printed advertisements for many contractors, tradesmen, and building materials suppliers. The booklet contains 56 pages of typewritten text that give brief descriptions of all of the materials and construction requirements for the project. An index is shown on the first page.

The view looks northeastward along the existing railroad tracks with caissons #3 and #4 shown (labeled) in the center foreground. A workman is standing to the left of caisson #4. A construction crane and temporary concrete mixing plant can be seen to the left of the railroad tracks. Also, temporary construction buildings, construction materials, and construction debris can be seen on both sides of the tracks. Several factory buildings are visible in the left background and a large railroad yard can be seen in the right background area.

- Color postcard depicting the Hazen S. Pingree Monument in Grand Circus Park, with pedestrians on the paths and Woodward Avenue on the right. Printed on verso: West Grand Circus Park, the oldest of Detroit's breathing grounds, is situated almost in the center of the city's retail district. Magnificent shade trees are everywhere, real monarchs of the forest that started to grow even before a white man set his foot on what is now the State of Michigan. The Park was set aside in 1854 under the general redistricting of the city. In the foreground is the Statue of the late Hazen S. Pingree, formerly Governor of Michigan. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Apr 11, 1911.
