- A picture of a family Christmas dinner party given by the Bale-Boeree Company in a wood-paneled room at the Peninsular Club, 116-120 Ottawa Ave NW. The men and women are dressed in business attire, the girls in party dresses and the boys in suits. The group is sitting around a cloth covered table set with silverware and napkins, candles, and floral arrangements. In the background on the left is a small Christmas tree and three large windows lined with drapery. At the top of the picture is the lower portion of a crystal chandelier.

The picture notes that this is the Single Management Course, Grand Rapids Branch, March 8, 1938. In the background are canned goods and various postings, two large chalkboards, and above the chalkboards is a diagram of a cow showing the different cuts of meat and a sign which reads “This is a Kroger Training Store Managed by Ed Samp”, located at 1435 Buchanan SW.
