- Interview of Ed Rector by filmmaker Frank Boring for the documentary, Fei Hu: The Story of the Flying Tigers. Ed Rector served as Vice Squadron Leader of the American Volunteer Group (AVG) 2nd Squadron "Panda Bears." He joined the AVG after discharging his commission from the US Navy, and left the AVG when it was disbanded in 1942. In this tape, Rector discusses his initial training period with General Chennault and meeting the rest of the AVG personnel in Toungoo.

- Handwritten letter and envelope with transcript by Joe Olexa to Agnes Van Der Weide, dated February 23, 1944. The envelope is sent from Co. L, 26th Infantry A.P.O.-1, c/o Postmaster New York, New York, dated February 28, 1944. In the letter, Joe writes to Agnes while stationed in England and discusses the photos from her visit with his family in Michigan, noticing how tall she looks in comparison with his short stature.

- Certificate of discharge of principle musician George W. Strong of the 15th Regiment of the Infantry Volunteers of the State of Michigan. Strong, a musician, joined the Regiment in Lakeport Michigan, and was discharged by promotion to a commission. Voucher for payment of services rendered, paid Jan. 5, 1863.

- Correspondence from John Bennitt to his wife Charlotte, October 5, 1862. During this time, Bennitt enlists as an assistant surgeon in the 19th Michigan Infantry. Bennitt_s regiment moves from Dowagiac, Michigan to Cincinnati, where it joins General Granger_s Army of Kentucky at Covington. Bennitt describes their march to Lexington and Nicholasville. During this time in Kentucky, Bennitt is placed in charge of the divisional hospital. Their Centreville home is lost through forclosure and his family moves to Three Rivers, Michigan to stay with friends. This group of letters is transcribed and footnoted in Chapter 2 of I Hope to Do My Country Service.
