The segment includes interviews conducted by Tim Elliott with the Governor of Bethlehem, a district officer in Jerusalem, and a member of the Transjordanian Parliament about conditions in the Arabic refugee camps and American policies in Israel. In the middle of the program, Don Martin reports on the 1952 Steel Strike and other national issues.

Description:
Dr. Harlan Jennings, associate professor of music at Michigan State University, presents "Horace Tabor, Baby Doe, and Denver's Tabor Grand Opera House." Jennings examines the role of the railroad in spreading opera to the West during the late 19th century and the early stagings of opera in Colorado as a preface to exploring the rise and fall of Horace Tabor and his Grand Opera House in Denver. Jennings explores Tabor's rise to wealth in the silver mines of Leadville, Colorado and his affair with Baby Doe which led to his eventual downfall and the sale of his Grand Opera House. Jennings answers questions from the audience after the presentation. He is introduced by MSU Music Librarian Mary Black Junttonen. Part of the MSU Libraries' Colloquia Series. Hmong immigrant and former soldier Tom Vue discusses emigrating from Laos to the U.S. via a camp in Thailand. He discusses taking command of 1200 troops in the rain forests of Laos after Hmong General Vang Pao emigrated to the US in 1975. Vue talks about their defeat by the communists in 1977 and his flight from Laos to Thailand. He also speaks about coming to Lansing, MI with his family and working in social services as a translator and refugee interviewer.

Obama provides examples of citizens who were hurt by predatory lending practices and declares that the days of the bank bailout and too big to fail are over.

Bush, poet Maya Angelou, investment guru Warren Buffett, baseball great Stan Musial, President Kennedy's sister Jean Kennedy Smith, concert cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
