- Doug Bernard hosts the Voice of America radio show "Talk to America" features a newly discovered live recording of Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane. Larry Applebaum, Library of Congress senior studio engineer, talks about stumbling upon the November 29, 1957 recording which pairs Monk's quartet with Coltrane, performing for VOA. Applebaum explains the process of digitizing and preserving old analog recordings and the quality and value of this particular recording. Michael Grey, chief VOA librarian, explains the history of the concert which was hosted by VOA jazz expert Willis Conover. John Shaw, assistant head of the G. Robert Vincent Voice Library of the Michigan State University Libraries, talks about the process of digitizing and cataloging audio material and about the difficulties in recovering sound from old recording formats. Participants answer questions from callers. Excerpts of the Monk and Coltrane recording are played.

- In a program entitled "Ayotzinapa: Carvana 43," family members of forty-three students kidnapped from the Mexican College of Ayotzinapa bring attention to the September 2014 tragedy. Maria de Jesus Tiatempa Bello talks about the event, the struggle to find the missing students, and why they have formed the Caravana. Cruz Bautista Salbador talks about the discovery of bodies in a mass grave and demands for a scientific analysis in the face of government attempts to sabotage the investigation. The speakers answer questions from the audience. The speakers are introduced by Caravana coordinator Julio Cesar Guerrero. Michigian State University Librries Asociate Director Peter Berg convenes the event. MSU Librarian Diana Rivera talks about the artist book created by Lorena Velazquez commemorating the event and its addition to the MSU Libraries' Special Collections. Dr. Shelia Contreras discusses the efforts to bring attention to the tragedy and the purpose of the Carvana. English to Spanish translation can be heard. Sponsored by the MSU Libraries and the MSU Chicano/Latino Studies Program. Held in the MSU Main Library.

- Poet, autoworker, and active member of UAW Local 160 Lolita Hernandez, talks about her concerns for the future as General Motors and Delphi struggle in the economy. Hernandez explains how she began writing, her mother's influence, her family's Trinidadian heritage, and being published. She also talks about her time in the Cadillac plant and the influence it has had on her writing, her current short story and poetry projects, and how her co-workers support her writing.
