- Mabel McQueen talks about her career at REO Motor Car Company/Diamond-Reo Trucks, Inc, in Lansing, MI, from 1953 to 1975. She describes her youth on the family farm, working at Motor Wheel through the war, her work as a secretary and bookkeeper, her supervisors, and her feelings about the union. McQueen says that many of her family members also worked at REO and that REO itself felt like one big family. She says that the bankruptcy was a terrible time and that it was heartbreaking watching friends and co-workers being fired and losing their pensions. The interviewers are Shirley Bradley and Lisa Fine. Recorded as part of the REO Memories oral history project.

- President Obama speaks at a ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, held at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. Obama recounts events early in the war that marked American involvement. He suggests "it is never too late to pay tribute to the men and women who answered the call of duty with courage and valor." Obama reflects on the sacrifices and continued service of Vietnam era veterans then announces that this Memorial Day begins a 13-year commemoration of the war during which the Federal government will partner with local governments, private organizations, and communities.

- President Obama describes the need to make college more affordable, before signing a memorandum outlining new executive actions to support federal student loan borrowers. Changes include reducing monthly payments of student loan debt to ten percent of an individual's income. Obama also criticizes Republicans for not fighting for students then signs the memorandum. - An interdisciplinary panel composed of Michigan State University faculty participates in a discussion entitled, "A world on the move : refugees, migrants, and immigrants". Panelists describe their research, teaching and writing efforts and explore the current situation of international refugees and immigrants and the dangers and challenges they face in leaving their home countries. They also discuss the reasons for migration around the world, the receptions immigrants often receive in coming to many countries and the economic advantages and disadvantages for countries welcoming immigration. Panelists are Anna Pegler-Gordon, James Madison College, David Thronson, College of Law, Sophia Koufopoulou, Department of Sociology, Stephanie Nawyn, Department of Sociology, and Johanna Schuster-Craig, College of Arts & Letters. Cynthia Jackson-Elmoore, dean of the MSU Honors College, convenes the session and moderates questions from the audience.
