- This is a photograph of two maces, reportedly used by German soldiers to kill wounded prisoners. Both have wooden handles, but one has a strap. These types of weapons were common in both Allied and German trenches and were used during hand-to-hand combat.

- The commandant's office served as the command post for the prison camp at Muensingen. All of the administrative affairs were conducted in this building to keep the camp running efficiently.

- The dining hall at Werl is set for lunch. The tables are covered with table cloths, cutlery, and dishes and there are decanters for liquid refreshment. The room is decorated with pictures on the wall and the prisoners have access to a piano to the left.

- Muslim prisoners at Zossen-Wuensdorf (Halbmondlager) sit on prayer rugs in the prison compound facing Mecca. The POW's have removed their footwear and listen to the address. An iman stands on a platform to the right, addressing the faithful.

- Interior of a new barrack constructed at the prison camp at Friedrichsfeld. The wooden bunks lack mattresses but there are towels below the cupboards as well as pots and bowls on the shelf on the wall to the right. The barrack was crowded and prisoners did not enjoy any privacy during their confinement.

- Russian prisoners take a bracing outdoor shower in the prison compound at Grafenwoehr. They used hand-pumped showers which provided only cold water--clearly a summer activity.
