- Document folded six times., Back of a folded indenture (mortgage) between John and Elizabeth Raymond, Essex and Dorothy Collard of Barnstone, Essex for ₤350 to John and Elizabeth Raymond for conveyance of capital massuage, Chelmshoes house and barns, stables, dove house [etc.] and lands in great Maplest[de?] and Deetingthorp [sp?], Essex. Containing 66 acres. Name of John Richardson mentioned. Two red-wax, impressed seals (design not visible), each stamped on tags., Three names in a different hand, possibly contemporary, on the lower corner, all illegible., and Written in England, county of Essex and dated 25 August 2 James II. At middle center in the near-contemporary hand, “15/18 [?] | Mr and Mrs Raymond | to | Mrs Collard} Release” and three illgible words in a near contemporary hand followed by “1686.” Also at the middle center of dorse in a later hand: “9.” Gift of the Western Michigan University Department of History to Special Collections in 1999.

- Election leaflet supporting Ernst Thälmann (KPD) for the March 13, 1932 Reichspresident election. The front calls out to women through figures and drawings to recognize the discrepancy between state aid to working class families and affluent families under the leadership of Paul von Hindenburg. The back accuses Hindenburg of being the candidate of war and emergency decrees. It concludes urging voters to support the KPD, which promises peace, freedom, and bread.

- The article "Paris 1871, Paris 1940" compares the victory and occupation of Paris during the Franco-Prussian war and then during World War II. Major landmarks of Paris in the photos include, Place de la Concorde, Arc de Triomphe, and the Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles.

- The four-page article "Jews among themselves," provides a photojournalistic image of the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland. The horrific conditions of the ghetto are not displayed however, and instead the author focuses on the reasons and justifications for the Jews being separated.

- Front entrance of William McCracken Hall at the time of construction in 1949. It was used as a chemistry facility. The first building on West Campus, McCracken Hall was named after well-known faculty member, William McCracken, head of the chemstry department from 1907-1939. A Paper Industries Laboratory was added to McCracken Hall in 1959 to support the nation's second Paper Technology program. One wing was torn down in 2017. The building was demolished in 2019.
