- Dr. Marcie Ray, ethnomusicologist and assistant professor of musicology at the Michigan State University College of Music, delivers a talk entitled, "Love, sex and greed : reflecting gender and class in French comic opera," at the Michigan State University Museum. Ray describes the history of the French aristocracy, beginning with King Louis XIV, and the role it played in the development of French opera. Ray answers questions from the audience. Ray is introduced by Michigan State University Professor John P. Beck.
