- The Michigan Historical Commission Museum at 505 North Washington Avenue. Originally a home built in the style of George Washington's Mt. Vernon in 1927 for Mrs. James M. Turner. The home was purchased by the state upon her death in 1942 and the museum opened formally there in 1944.
