- World War I poster with the messages, "Sugar Means Ships" and "The Consumption of Sugar Sweetened Drinks Must Be Reduced." The poster shows a sketch of a woman who is drinking from a straw that is causing sugar-laden ships to be diverted to the United States which would have otherwise been available to carry supplies for the war effort in Europe. Additional printed text notes "For your beverages 400 million lbs. of sugar were imported in ships last year. Every ship is needed to carry soldiers and supplies now." The artist's name, "E.
