Printed on verso: Wayne Hotel, Detroit, Mich. Looking East on Jefferson, showing The Wayne Hotel is one of the favorite hotels in the city. Located on Jefferson Avenue, Cor. 3rd, directly across from the Michigan Central Depot. It is on the River Bank and from its windows a fine view of the river traffic is possible in the season. In the summer time, a pavilion, built out to the water's edge, adds to the attractions of the hostelry, which has been for the past twenty years, under the management of J. R. Hayes. Half of it was donated by John P. Clark in 1890 and the balance purchased by the city. It comprises 23 acres and it one of the many beautiful parks in the city.
